Description

TSH is one of the hormones secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. Its main function is to control and regulate the activity of thyroid gland. Determination of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in serum (plasma) is one of the important indicators for the diagnosis and treatment of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism and the study of hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis. High TSH levels usually indicate hypothyroidism, and low TSH levels usually indicate hyperthyroidism。
