Introduction
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a common neurodegenerative disease, which is characterized by the deposition of neurofibrillary tangles and β-amyloid plaques in neurons.In the early diagnosis of AD, tau protein has attracted much attention as an important diagnostic marker. Tau protein is a protein that plays a supporting role in the axon of neurons, and its normal state maintains the structure and function of neurons by regulating the stability of microtubules.
In AD patients, tau protein undergoes abnormal phosphorylation and aggregation, forming neurofibrillary tangles, leading to the destruction of neuronal structure and loss of function. Studies have shown that the level of tau protein in the cerebrospinal fluid of AD patients is significantly increased, and the degree of increase is positively correlated with the degree of cognitive decline. tau protein, as a marker for the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, provides strong support for early intervention and treatment.

HKIG’s innovative products (tau protein antigen and antibody) have the following characteristics：
1. tau antigen was prepared by mammalian cell expression, covering the full length of the protein, without label or modification, with high purity and close to the natural protein structure to the greatest extent.
2. There is a choice between phosphorylated or non-phosphorylated tau antigens. Phosphorylated tau antigen (catalog No.: 2035) maintains phosphorylation at important sites (pT181, pT217, pT231). The non-phosphorylated tau antigen (catalog No.: 2035N) does not contain phosphorylation at all, which facilitates the accurate quantitative detection of tau.
3. The isomer set (2035I/NI) of five different tau isoforms expressed in mammalian cells, which can be used for screening and identification of the recognition of different tau isoforms by antibodies.
4. The antibody specifically recognized phosphorylated native tau but not nonphosphorylated tau, and there was no cross-reaction between different phosphorylation sites (pT181, pT217, pT231).
