Description

thrombomodulin (TM), which is mainly produced by endothelial cells, is the receptor and cofactor of thrombin, and the main activator of protein C. When endothelial cells are diseased or damaged, the expression and secretion of TM are abnormal, as well as the release of TM into the blood, resulting in the change of TM content. Therefore, TM can be used as a marker of endothelial cell injury. Elevated TM indicates vascular endothelial injury, which is more common in diabetes mellitus, nephropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), liver failure, and renal failure. In addition, the plasma concentration of TM increases, suggesting that the activation of the protein C system and the anticoagulant ability are weakened^[1].

HKIG currently provides two paired monoclonal antibodies for TM(product number: 1019101,1019201).
